1. About These Terms

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the website patrickwhitepublishing.com and any services provided by Patrick White Publishing (ABN 47 088 124 305) (“we”, “us”, “our”). By using our website or submitting an enquiry you agree to these Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and you submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that state.

2. Our Services

Patrick White Publishing provides professional book publishing services including, but not limited to: manuscript editing and proofreading, cover design, interior formatting, ISBN registration, global distribution, ghostwriting, children’s book illustration, and author marketing. The specific scope of services for each project is agreed upon in a separate written agreement between us and the client.

3. Enquiries and Quotes

Submitting an enquiry form on our website is entirely free and creates no obligation on your part. A quote provided by Patrick White Publishing is an estimate only and does not constitute a binding contract. A binding agreement is formed only when both parties have signed a written service agreement and a deposit has been received.

We aim to respond to all enquiries within 24 hours on business days (Monday–Friday, Australian Eastern Time).

4. Intellectual Property and Copyright

You retain full ownership of the copyright in your manuscript and all original content you provide to us. By engaging our services you grant Patrick White Publishing a limited, non-exclusive licence to use your content solely for the purpose of providing the agreed services (editing, formatting, design, etc.).

All design work, illustrations, and other creative materials produced by Patrick White Publishing as part of your project are created for your exclusive use and ownership transfers to you upon final payment, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Patrick White Publishing retains the right to include completed projects in its portfolio and promotional materials unless you request otherwise in writing.

5. Payments and Refunds

Payment terms are set out in the individual service agreement. Projects typically require a deposit before work commences, with the balance due on completion or in agreed milestone instalments. All prices are in Australian dollars (AUD) and are inclusive of GST where applicable.

Refund eligibility depends on the stage of work completed and is governed by the service agreement. We operate in good faith and will work with you to resolve any concerns about the quality of our work.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Patrick White Publishing’s total liability to you for any claim arising out of or in connection with our services is limited to the amounts paid by you for the specific services giving rise to the claim.

We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss or damage, including loss of profit, loss of revenue, or loss of data, whether arising in contract, tort, or otherwise.

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any guarantee, condition, warranty, right, or remedy which cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

You agree to use our website only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not infringe the rights of others or restrict their use of the website. You must not attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of our systems or data.
